Commenting on a recent meeting held with Steve Walker of Stagecoach, Drew Hendry MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey said:
“Many constituents have been in touch to raise concerns about recent timetable changes to buses servicing Ardersier and other communities. The changes have left local residents without crucial transport links and it is important that more is done to ensure that communities are not left without alternative transport options.
“Stagecoach have determined that this route is not commercially viable to retain however I am keen to work with local residents affected by the changes to explore community transport options. It is vital that transport links are sustainable and meet the needs of the residents who live there.
“Mr Walker and I also discussed issues with bus delays and timetable changes raised by constituents in Inverness. Some of this can be attributed to recent traffic issues in the City Centre and Mr Walker assured me that reliability and punctuality will improve as road closures and adjustments are removed.”
